Cirium is seeking enthusiastic undergraduates with an interest in Data Science to join our team during the summer of 2023. This is an exciting opportunity that will enable you to gain real-life work experience and prove yourself to future employers.
You will work as part of the central Data Science team, focusing on Research, Development, and Discovery for our next generation of aviation analytics products, and will be based in our Southampton, London Heathrow, or London Bishopsgate office.
You will contribute to the Data Science portfolio of work through:
  • Engaging with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements for data science projects
  • Running small data exploration and analysis projects, and delivering insights to internal stakeholders
  • Building analytics pipelines and machine learning prototypes as part of a project team
You will be supported by the wider data science team, and will have access to our full technology stack (including Databricks / Spark, Github, AWS Athena & S3) and a range of learning materials to build your real-world data science skills.
The ideal candidate will have experience writing code in Python, have a quantitative background (studying maths, statistics, computer science, economics, etc.), good communication skills, and a keen interest in data science. You will have the ability to work independently as well as in a team, a willingness to ask for help when needed, and a strong desire to learn new things and adopt an experimental approach to projects.
This is a paid internship and the opportunity to learn more about the application of data and data science across the Aviation industry, with the potential to form project ideas for your final year or postgraduate projects.
